Introducing #Imminence - mascot of the 2019 edition

Who is Imminence?

#Imminence, Bleue du Nord, mascot of #SIA2019

Imminence, 5 years old, was born in September 2013 in Saint-Aubin in the Avesnois-Thiérache region, and lives on Gilles Druet's farm, along with a herd of 100 other cows of the "Bleue du Nord" (Northern Blue) breed. A perfect ambassador for her breed, she has all the right characteristics to represent the Northern Blue: a wide muzzle, a slender neck, black snout, hooves and teats which blend perfectly with her white coat dappled with a beautiful blueish grey… Docile and affectionate, Imminence is what we might call an easygoing cow.

“Imminence is curious, affectionate, and hardy.  It is an honour and a source of great pride that she has been chosen as the mascot cow of the 2019 International Agricultural Show.” Gilles Druet

The Druet family, Imminence's breeders

The Druet family is representative of the talented women and men who work daily in the service of agriculture, maintaining the ecosystem of our territories, domesticating animal species, producing natural raw materials and handing down values.

The son and grandson of farmers, Gilles Druet, 44, took over his parents' 115-hectare farm, specialising in the breeding of Northern Blues, 22 years ago.  In addition to his hundred or so cows, Gilles also grows corn and cereals to feed his animals.

For Gilles Druet, breeding is about family.  It's a real passion that he was able to pass on to his wife Isabelle and their three children, Julien, Lucie and Victor, all 4 of whom work with him on the farm.  Along with this passion, the family applies its talents and skills to the care of the Bleue du Nord breed that Imminence proudly represents on the posters of the International Agricultural Show's 2019 edition.
